Sucarnochee Folklife Festival

PotterySucarnocheeFestivalSumterCelebrating its 10 Year Anniversary, the Sucarnochee Folklife Festival is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the unique life ways of the Black Belt region. Held on the Courthouse Square in Livingston on the third Saturday in April of each year, the festival features folksingers, demonstrators of traditional crafts, historical tours of local sites, folk food, and storytelling. The festival boasts Blue Ribbon Contests in Cake & Pie Baking, BBQ Sauce, Home Canning and a Cornbread Cook-off! New this year is the Black Belt Quilt Show featuring area quilts of all styles. Visitors to the Sucarnochee Folklife Festival are encouraged to bring a chair and blanket, relax, and enjoy the festival fun filled atmosphere.
